Urban Commercial Area of Quality

The Director-General of the Board of Trade, Maria Dolores Atienza, visits the works carried out around the Open commercial centre.

The Director General of the Board of Trade, Maria Dolores Atienza, in the company of the Mayor, Jose Sanchez Moreno of Delegate for Tourism, Trade and Sports Board, Jose Cosme Martin, and the President of SASA and its Director, Jose Luis Sanchez Juan Pablo Cabrera, has visited the Open Mall of Álora. The councillor for Tourism, Sonia Ramos, and Councillor of Festivals and Provincial Deputy Jesus Mora, were also present during the tour through the streets of the Open commercial centre.

Maria Dolores Atienza was received at City Hall by the Mayor, Jose Sanchez, and then visited the headquarters of the Employers and Merchants of Álora. The Director-General of Trade said, “Our people have a first generation commercial centre, something that very few people can say in Andalusia”, with public investment from the City Council, Board and the cooperation of employers, according Atienza.

The Mayor, Jose Sanchez says that "this important development in the Commercial Urban centre assumes a strong impetus for small businesses of our people, because with the reform of Fuente Arriba and Avenida Cervantes we are building a great Open commercial centre ". Furthermore, "all the additional works such as the construction of Kids Parks, performances at the Fuente de la Manía or building of viewpoints put value in the entire Open commercial centre." In addition, the next plan of parking, with 3 general areas, according to the mayor.

For the Delegate for Tourism, Trade and Sport of the Junta, Jose Cosme Martin, "the important thing is that the City Council and ACAA go in the same direction, which is not the case everywhere, and this helps us to collaborate on projects ".

Meanwhile, Juan Pablo Cabrera, director of ACAA, says that "we strongly agree, in general, and we all collaborated in the development of Commercial Urban area of the Town Hall."

The Draft Commercial Urbanism, co-hosted by the City Council and the Government of Andalusia, has seena strong investment exceeding one million euros for the total refurbishment of Avenida Cervantes and Avenida la Fuente Arriba. The objective of these works has been to encourage business within the commercial centre and with the collaboration of the Association of Employers and Merchants Álora. After Easter will begin work on the next phase of Urban Commercial with Calle Carmona and Avenida Veracruz.
