Today, July 11, 2008, inaugurated the New Health Care Centre Álora

3 million euros spent on welfare.

Jose Sanchez, Mayor of Álora, along with Maria Jesus Montero, Councillor for Health and Antonia Rodriguez, Councillor for Health and Consumer Affairs of the council of Álora today inaugurated the new Health Centre. With this building is three times the area devoted to primary care in our town. At the event were numerous citizens and nearby neighbours of Álora, the government team of Álora, the relevant authorities as well as numerous media.

This is an important investment both by the Government of Andalusia, which has contributed more than 2.3 million, and the Town hall that has collaborated with 427.695,07 Euros besides the furniture and clinical technology. This way, the total cost ascends to approximately 3 million Euros.

The mayor began his speech by asking for forgiveness from Álora citizens for the delay in building the health centre and permanent and the workers of the area of health of our municipality for the conditions not adapted under which have been developing their work. "This was a big thorn we had in Álora" said Jose Sanchez.

Moreover he was grateful for the wait and the patience of all and the collaboration of the Meeting of Andalusia as the project comes to light. Finally, he congratulated the architect and workers who have built the Health Centre. "Today we have in Álora the best centre of the province and it is a pride in terms of the services offered and in relation to the structure, is the best centre in the province. I hope that the Government of Andalusia continue investing in this way, not only in our village, also in the rest of the province" he added to finish.

"It is never late if the happiness is good” said the Minister of Health, Maria Jesus Montero, I am delighted to share with you this time and to deliver a service that today is at your disposal. The collaboration of Andalusia has been essential but no less important than that of the council. The public entities have to collaborate in favour of the citizens who are for that we work and who benefit from our labour." to end she said in conclusion that the main thing was to make little use of the Centre for Health for disease but a lot of room for maternal education and added: "The best thing is not often much, but if it goes to the centre the conditions are excellent, both for users and for workers in the SAS itself."

The new health centre has been designed to offer excellent conditions, and moreover, several factors have been taken into account when building to save energy and not pollute the environment as the Councillor of Health said "this is the style by which the Government of Andalusia is relying: intelligent buildings, comfortable and warm to make maximum use of clean energies to work with the environment. This is a priority of Andalusia with their peoples." One example is that, by their location and structure, it takes one hundred percent natural light of our Valle del Sol, high ceilings improve ventilation ... It is a building of harmonious lines and filled with ample spaces.

There are many benefits with which the centre has thus making life much easier for our citizens. According to the Councillor, users can already begin on Monday, noting the increase in the portfolio of services offered. The ground floor accommodates the clinical areas in which spread six informal standard, three infirmaries, two of paediatrics, a multi-purpose room, a vaccine, an office of dentistry and a dental extraction treatment room. Also includes the room of rehabilitation, one of electrotherapy, a room of sanitary education, a x-ray room and continuous care, which includes a standard consultation, a treatment room and an observation room.

Moreover staffing has been increased: consists of 12 family physicians, 11 family nurses, a nurse liaison, two paediatricians, five administrative assistants, two nursing assistants, six guards, drivers, a social worker, a midwife, a physiotherapist, a pharmaceutical and a veterinarian.

Actually we should be proud of the work that the municipality of Álora and councillors of Health have conducted in collaboration with the Government of Andalusia.
