More quality of enviromental life

The Mayor of Álora, José Sánchez; the President of the Delegation, Salvador Pendón; the Councilwoman of Environment, Desirée Cortés; Juan Alcover, of EGMASA; and Cristina Requena, of Novasoft, have presented at the Plenary meeting the Environmental Diagnosis of Álora.

According to words of the Mayor, “our municipality prepared the Environmental Diagnosis in the year 2003, and we have finished with the first phase in which the Grouping of Containers has been realized, the cleanliness and reforestation of the Cerro de las Torres, the Punto Limpio, Infant Parks, Plan of Soterramiento of Containers and elimination of architectural barriers, between other measurements to improve the environment for our people and districts”.

In Álora, which is one of 111 municipalities taken refuge in City 21, has been invested “600.000 Euros, with the participation of the Meeting of Andalusia and the Delegation ”. The Mayor adds that “now we are in the phase of making Plans of Performance, a phase of participation of all the groups of the municipality as Associations of Neighbours, Businessmen, etc ...”. In particular, the Forums of Civil Participation will take place on the 25th, 26 and 27, and during them they will talk with each other matters related to the water, energy, residues, urban way and green systems.

For his part, Salvador Pendón, President of the Delegation, has underlined the will of the Delegation to keep on collaborating with the Town hall of Álora in the progress of the environment, “as we did with the creation and starting of the Clean Point”. Also underlined is that, “a town planning that does not bear in mind the environmental situations is not suitable”. “We have to keep on advancing in the gamble for the environment and the natural way” indicated the President of the Delegation, who congratulates to the Town hall for this environmental diagnosis.

Also present at the press conference was Juan Alcover, of EGMASA, who has highlighted the gamble by the Commission of Environment of the Junta of Andalusia for the environmental diagnoses and has encouraged “the whole citizenship in the participation of the forums”.
