Opened the Centre of Social Services Community
The works have exceeded 300,000 euros
This morning, took place the inauguration of the Centre of Social Services. To the event came the President of the Provincial Council, Salvador Pendón, the Provincial Delegate of Social Services, Amparo Bilbao and the Mayor of Alora, Jose Sanchez, among other authorities. The three institutions (Junta of Andalusia, council and town hall) have been committed during the inauguration press conference, to start working on the expansion of this centre because, as noted by Salvador Banner, "we are aware of the needs that exist in this area and in the province."
The Centre is modern and comprehensive, in total, has a floor area of 289 m2, which are distributed as follows: four offices, an entrance, two bathrooms, a meeting room, a basement and a terrace. In total, the budget of the works has exceeded 300,000 euro, which have been funded by the Provincial Council, the Government of Andalusia and the City of Alora.
The Centre, which caters to people in 8 municipalities (Alora, Casarabonela, El Burgo, Alozaina, Yunquera, Cartama, Pizarra and Valle de Abdalajís) has as its principal aim to coordinate all activities that, as for social services, develop in the mentioned municipalities , in addition, to inform, assess and provide guidance to local authorities and citizens. Other areas of work are more specific: home care, the management of the Law of Dependence and the control of the absenteeism.
These services are covered by a staff of 15 professionals, including psychologists, social workers and educators.
