Álora unveils its first buried containers
On June 4, 2002, Álora Town hall will adhere to the City Program 21 with the purpose of incorporating everything relating to the Environment in the municipal management, and will carry out programs and actions directed to the improvement of the awareness, sensitization, education and acquisition of infrastructures related to the Environment for our municipality.
It is a commitment of this Town hall, to provide modern and innovative infrastructures in the matter of the Environment for the neighbours of Álora.
The result of this commitment is carrying out a plan of excavation of containers. To the existing three buried points so far, more points will be added. Specifically, it will install 20 more points where will be located 32 buried containers at a total cost of 272,000 euros.
There are many advantages to our municipality, will this new service. These include:
- Progressive reduction of the production of solid urban waste.
- Elimination of odours
- Improving the cityscape
- Developments in more sustainable waste collection systems.
- Promote the order, cleanliness and environmental health.
- Saving of the expense of withdrawal and reinstatement of containers
In short, with the introduction of buried containers in our municipality and the placement of Ecological Islands, we intend to give partial response to problems arising from urban waste following the principles of sustainability and citizen participation.
