"Strong investment by the Board of Álora"

The Commissioner of Health, Maria Antigua Escalera, and Jose Cosme, Delegate of Tourism, Trade and Sport, presented budgets for 2008.

The Commissioner of Health, Maria Antigua Escalera, along with the Delegate of Tourism, Trade and Sport, Jose Cosme, accompanied by the Mayor of Álora have presented at the Plenary Hall budgets of the Board for 2008 and the impact on our people and in the District of the Guadalhorce.

According to the Mayor, Jose Sanchez, "these budgets of the Board for the coming year will consequently remain very positive for our people and will bring very strong investment."

Thus, there are currently several ongoing projects on which the Board invests with significant funding and considerable amounts for the Centre for Health, with 2,600,000 Euros, the football stadium, with 400,000 euros, the Pool Deck, with 600,000 euros, and Urbanism Commercial 659,000 euros.

Next year, after about Easter, will begin the construction of Mirador de Uriquí, and also carry out the following actions in the Urban Commercial with the reform of Plaza Fuente Arriba to Veracruz. The mayor has reported that the artificial turf Football ground will be opened soon, as will the new Avenue between la Barriada del Puente and Bellavista.

Jose Cosme, Delegate of Tourism, Trade and Sport, has indicated that the budgets of the Board for the coming year will be 31,900 million euros, of which 52% will go to social policies, including education, health or Equality. Jose Cosme has been noted that in 2007 Andalusia grow, after inflation, between 3.8 and 4%. "Álora has been a municipality treated fairly well. The streets of the commercial centre have nothing to do with those of a few years ago; it has invested some 659,000 euros in commercial urbanism. "Thus, the Board will spend next year in Álora on the Mirador Uriquí, remodelling of the College Guadalhorce, Urban Commercial, and in projects currently under way.

For its part, the Delegate for Health, Maria Antigua Escalera has stressed "the will to continue policies of achievement from the Board of Andalusia, and the firm investment made by the Andalusian government for Álora, not only in infrastructure but also on improving the services". Maria Antigua Escalera has indicated that the Hospital del Valle del Guadalhorce dynamics in the entire region, with an investment of 23 million euros. The works are scheduled to begin in the second half of next year.

Regarding the Health Centre Álora, the Delegate has claimed to be in talks over the dates of Christmas and that "after three amendments to the budget comes to 2,300,000 more with 300,000 euros for furniture and equipment" for which "we are to have a large Health Centre for Álora.
