Álora Feria
The Álora Fiesta 2007 will take place from 1st to 5th August 5.
However, two concerts will be performed on 30th July ( “El Arrebato”) and 31st July (the local rock group “Devil's Dandruff”) respectively.
On 5th August Manuel Orta will sing in the Municipal “Caseta”.
Entrances will be free for all the concerts.
Monday 30th July
At 22.30 h: In Concert. - "EL ARREBATO" – La Trocha - free entrance
“El Arrebato” is the familiar nickname of Javier Labandón who has secured enormous commercial success with his style of pop rock Andalusia and is regarded nowadays as one of the most important and popular figures of Spanish music with Andalusion roots. His music is ‘joy and sadness’, ‘love and forgetfulness’, ‘friendship and deceit’, in other words ‘street life’.
Tuesday 31st July:
At 21, 00 h: Inauguration of the Amusement Park - Explanada del Convento de Flores.
Attractions are very well priced. One of the attractions will be a tourist train which for a moderate price, will be travel until Flores.
At 22, 30 h: In Concert: - "DEVIL'S DANDRUFF" - Caseta de la Juventud (P. San Paulino) – free entrance
“Devil´s Dandruff” is a local rock group (from Álora - Marco and Sergio Macías, and from Málaga - Antonio "Profe", Manolo and Juan) . They were winners of “Lagarto Rock 2005”. This year among the first fifteen bands out of a total of 1800 European groups taking part in “el Festival Europeo Villa de Bilbao”. Now they have arrive in Álora to present their first disk entitled Lifestyle". The disk was mastered in Sterling Studios of New York, and it is presented for the first time in Álora.
Wednesday 1st August:
At 21:30 h: Cavalcade of Giant Heads accompanied by the Municipal Band – Route: Plaza Baja, Calle Atrás, Fuente Arriba, Veracruz, Avenida Cervantes.
At 22:30 h: Inauguration of the official Illuminations in la Fuente de la Manía by Señor Alcalde, Delegado de Fiestas y Equipo de Gobierno.
At 23:00 h: In Concert - "LOS COMPADRES" - The Municipal House (Municipal Pool) – free entrance
The concert is for the benefit of the Association of Parents and Mothers of handicapped Children Handicapped. "LOS COMPADRES" are a Flamenco Group - Rumbero of Álora. They have recorded four disks and have had great success with their concerts. At this Fair 2007 they present their new work "Sueño", ten topics with lyrics by Soraya Heredia, and music by Eloy Aranda, S. Heredia and Miguel Heredia.
At 24:00 h: “Caseta de la Juventud” - Polideportivo San Paulino - Free entrance - You will astounded!

Thursday 2nd August:
At 13:00 h: “Inauguration of the Feria” - Plaza Fuente Arriba - with Animation Shows, DJs, and Gogós, etc!

20:00 h: Childrens - Parque Infantil de la Avenida Cervantes
The event is organised by the Town Council for Social Matters. There will distribution of ice creams, music and a puppet show.
At 22:00 h: In Concert Orchestra “Tropical Sounds” - The Municipal House (Municipal Pool) – free entrance

At 15:30 h: Spanish Song - Asociacion Cultural ‘Álora- La Bien Cercada –Cta Carmona -. Performance of "RAQUEL FRAMIT."
At 19:30 h: Fiesta of the Third Age - Municipal Pool
The Town Council will distribute ice creams, hazelnuts and churros and have organized a special performance of the song "ROCÍO WAR"

At 10,30 h: Concurso de "Cantes de la Trilla" - Aparcamientos de la Calle Carmona
The contest is organized by the Town Council for Agriculture. The objective of the contest being to maintain and promote the traditional singing of the “Trilla" which was originally used by agricultural workers to urge on the cattle during threshing.
Prizes: 150, 125, 100 and 60 Euros

Manuel Orta was born in Los Palacios (Seville) and in the 6 years since winning hisfirst flamenco competition he has built his very successful artistic career with his “Grupo de Sevillanas”. He has won some of the most important festivals of flamenco such as “el de Mairena, Puente Genil y Paterna”. Manuel Orta is the group’s inspiration and has talent, quality, excellent interpretation and an exceptional voice. The Group’s ir concerts have had great success and recognitions.
